The old way, briefly
(so we don’t have to mention it again)
You know the model. A ‘big 5’ or ‘boutique’ consultancy (usually made up of people from the big 5) sends a senior partner to sell the work and then hands the work off to an inexperienced team to deliver it. It charges you for the team’s learning curve. It hands back a report so polished you could skate on it, and so dense that nobody in the building ever quite gets round to reading page 40, where the actual answer is hiding. The answer that only they can deliver.
Then it goes home and invoices. And, then they’ll come back twelve months later, selling you the fix for the thing it never actually fixed (or new problem it created).
We think the industry that’s meant to help you run a better organisation could stand to be run a bit better itself. This is what we do.
